Champions Experience Points (XP) - How you earn them.

Almost everything you do on Champions will earn you Experience Points (XP). Your XP accumulates automatically as you use Champions in the normal course of your learning or for fun. You will see your XP expressed as a number at the top of your Dashboard’s Newsfeed.

All Members on Champions earn XP regardless of their Membership type.
XP keeps growing and stays with you throughout your Champions membership, even if you change Membership types. As the points accumulate they are an important part of ‘Levelling up’ on your journey from ‘Newbie’ to ‘Champion’. Each level requires members to earn a minimum amount of XP before they can qualify for the next level. For instance, 1000 XP is required to qualify for the ‘Rookie’ Level.

Members earn XP in a variety of ways. It’s easy because it all happens in the background while you are just using your Membership. You can review a summary of how and when your XP points were earned by clicking on the XP icon at the top of your Champions Dashboard.

How to use or play a Capability Assessment Challenge

Capability Assessments are the perfect tool for collecting and analysing data about individual or organizational capability. Specific data is gathered as a user ‘plays’ a Capability assessment Challenge available on the Champions Library. The user simply selects the appropriate level of capability from a selection offered during a ‘game like’ series of Evaluation Criteria. The challenges are based on best practice, methodical and surprisingly fun.

From the Library, choose and select any Capability Assessment Challenge you would like to complete or play. The example below shows a Capability Assessment on the Champions Library (in this case, Business Change Tester) When ‘moused over’, a card displays some of the Challenge’s statistics, such as how many times it’s been played and it’s star rating. There is also an attached Information panel which shows a description of the Challenge.

After you click the ‘Open’ button on any Challenge type, you will be taken to the Pre-Game screen (as seen below)

The example shows the Pre-Game screen for the Capability Assessment. The Pre-Game screen displays the Capability Assessment card with either an ad or a short survey card. The short survey cards are used pre game, to find out what groups of people are playing the Challenge. They are only used in special Challenges and often for Capability Assessments or Masterclasses as seen below.

When you are ready to start the Challenge, click the green Play button on the Challenge card or the Start Challenge on the footer. A five second countdown timer will get you ready to start answering questions.

When the Challenge starts, you will see the first Evaluation Criteria question. On Champions, all the Challenge types have a similar, easy to use layout. The Capability Assessment is not a timed Challenge and so has a slightly different layout to regular Assessments or QuizGames.

  • The main panel on the right displays the Evaluation Criteria question at the top, with six choice options set out below. When completing a Capability Assessment, you should to read the Evaluation Criteria carefully and think about it in relation to your own (or your organization’s) capability.
  • Next read the level of capability options which are set out in order from high capability (5 points) to no capability (zero points). Choose the option which best fits your current capability. It is important to choose honestly and understand that there is no right or wrong selection. The assessment is simply trying to discern the actual level of capability.
  • When you have chosen an option, click on the panel to select it. It will change to a yellow color indicating your final choice.

To lock in your answer, simply click on the submit answer button at the bottom of screen.

The next screen gives you the chance to leave feedback on any aspect of the Evaluation Criteria (EC) question. Simply click on the Give Feedback button which will open a helpful pop up. (see below) Giving feedback helps to improve the library content and earns Champions Members experience points (XP).

  • The left panel of the Game Screen contains the Category Evaluation box. This box shows the category to which the EC question belongs. The author can choose to define the category here, making it easier for users to choose wisely. (See below). If the author chooses not to include a Category Evaluation, this box displays a handy tip for completing the assessment. Directly under the Timer, is the Question Progress indicator. As you answer questions, the indicator shows coloured segments corresponding to the options you chose for all previous questions. The grey segments show how many EC questions are remaining in the Capability Assessment. (See below).

When choosing options, the more information you have the better. To this end, the author will often include a Method of Assessment. This information helps explain the Evaluation Criteria in more detail. If included, the Method of Assessment will always appear directly below the EC question (in the same box) and a red flashing arrow will remind you to expand the box. This enables easy reading of the entire question and Method of Assessment. You can expand any of the boxes to view hidden text, images or other media. You can also resize and reposition these pop up boxes anywhere on the screen. (See above)

You can also customize the way you complete the Capability Assessment by adjusting the panels to your needs. Click the ‘Minimize’ link above the left panel to hide it and expand the main panel to full screen. You can toggle between views as you like. (See below)

After you have completed all EC questions in the Challenge, click the finish button (bottom right of footer) to proceed to the End of Challenge screen.

On this screen you see a quick summary graph representing how you saw your level of capability. From this screen you can also click on My Data, which opens a more detailed list of data and graphs related to the Challenge just played. You can also review this data at any time from your Member Dashboard.

When you are finished, click Dashboard to return to your Member Dashboard. While playing a challenge, if you choose to exit the game at any time, Champions will remember where you left the Challenge and you may receive prompts to complete the Challenge on your Dashboard Newsfeed.

Creating and Managing Capability Assessments

Capability Assessments are the perfect tool for gathering data on the capability of individuals or organizations. This valuable function is only available to Champions Professional Members

Creating and managing your Capability Assessments is easy. Just follow these steps and you’ll soon have complete control of this valuable Champions function!

Step 1:

From your Dashboard, select  Manage Capability Assessments from the left menu.

Step 2:

You are now in the Manage Capability Assessments dashboard.

The first time you view this page, there won’t be any content. To make your first Capability Assessment Challenge, all you need to do is start making questions (Evaluation Criteria).  Once you have at least three questions, you can add them into a Challenge. But first, you need to select the Topic in which you will make the questions for your Challenge.

Topics are at the very core of how Champions works. Choosing the correct Topic will automatically set all the categories on which you will build your future questions. This is how Champions is able to generate detailed and global analytics for your future reports.

Select Add a Topic

Step 3:

A list will pop up where you first need to select a genre.

Topics are organised into Genres, so before you can select a Topic, you need to choose the genre.

Select the genre in which your Topic will be found.

Step 4:

Once you have chosen the Genre, click continue and you’ll be redirected to a list of Topics in the library for that genre.

If you don’t see what you like, you can request any Topic you can think up in the Library’s Tool Bar. But for this example, I chose the genre Transformation, and now I see a selection of Topics that relate to Transformation.

Mouse over any of the topics to see if the categories in the Topic suit your needs. The categories show in a list to the right of the Topic card. Take particular note of the categories that make up each Topic. These categories will be used to make your questions and this is where the detailed data is generated.

Once you have decided on a Topic, click the Open button in the bottom right corner of the Topic card.

For this example, I have chosen the Topic, ‘Business Change’. I’d like to make some Evaluation Criteria questions that I plan to use in a Business Change Capability Assessment.

Step 5:

Happy with your Topic selection?  Just click ‘Add Topic’.

Step 6

Now the Topic has been added into your Dashboard and we’re ready to start creating and adding questions.

The topic you chose is now displayed in your list. Just click Add Question

Step 7

Creating Evaluation Criteria Questions

This is the Add Evaluation Criteria page where you can input all the data for your Evaluation Criteria questions.

The top panel contains the Topic you chose, and a pre-filled drop down list of all the categories in the Topic.  They will have a zero next to them right now because you haven’t added any questions yet. You’ll need to select the most appropriate category for the question you about to create. When creating your next question, you’ll see that there is a (1) next to the initial category you chose. This function helps you to create questions in equal amounts across all of the categories.

Next is the Purpose of Category Evaluation panel. Filling in this panel is optional. This is where you can define the parameters of the selected category in more detail and in context with your reasons for creating future questions within the category.  The information you supply here will be seen by the people who will use your completed Capability Assessment. In the screenshot below, you can see the Purpose of Category Evaluation text in the top left box on the ‘Game Screen’. The Game Screen is the interface that users will see as they ‘play’ your Capability Assessment. A detailed and informative Game Screen helps users to understand your question and provide more accurate answer choices. Knowing how your questions will present to your future users will help you to design the perfect Capability Assessment.

You only need to provide this text explanation once per category (if at all). I would advise to just cut and paste your text for each category into the panel for matching categories in all subsequent questions that you create in the same Topic. This method is fast and easy.

The next panel is where you compose your Evaluation Criteria question. Evaluation Criteria are more like statements than questions but we refer to them as questions because we use them to derive answers. While you can create as many EC questions as you like, each one should try to define a specific capability, so that your final data is detailed and demonstrates an overall capability. Think about how you might use the answers to your questions to pinpoint opportunities for improvement. Your Evaluation Criteria can be just text or can include other media such as images, video or audio.

The next optional part of your Evaluation Criteria is called the “Method of Assessment”, and it is a way to give users more detailed information about how to answer your question. It should help the user to decide which of the six options best reflects the current situation of their capability. If you decide to add a Method of Assessment to guide the users, it will appear on the ‘Game Screen’ directly under the Evaluation Criteria question. They won’t be able to miss it! Of course, the users can enlarge any panels on the Game Screen to view the text or images in more detail. (see below)

The final part in creating your EC questions, are the answer “Choices”. This is where you add descriptive text for various levels of capability applicable to the Evaluation Criteria you have outlined above. The levels are split into six coloured panels, each allowing the user to give a capability score from 0 to 5. Each of the point scores has labels which describe their level of capability. The highest score of 5 points is awarded where capability is “Optimised”. A zero point score would suggest no capability at all.

You can also add additional media to any of the six Choices.

You can review your creation by clicking the ‘Test Question’ button at the bottom of the page and correct any issues. When you are satisfied, click the submit button to add the question into your group of questions under the chosen Topic.

Back on the main “Manage Capability Assessment” page and you can see how the page may look after you have added a few Topics and then made some questions within the Topics. From here you have an overview of your questions and you can choose to make more. Instead of manually creating each question as previously shown, you can also create questions using an offline spreadsheet. Start by downloading the spreadsheet template for the Topic you need. The spreadsheet comes customised with all the correct categories and fields to be populated with question and choice data. Take your time compiling as many questions as you like. When you’re ready, simply click on the ‘upload’ link in the matching Topic. All the questions on the spreadsheet will be seamlessly transferred into the question area and you’ll see the number of questions in that Topic rise accordingly.

Step 8

Creating Capability Assessments

Note: You need a minimum of three Evaluation Criteria questions to create a Capability Assessment Challenge. You should aim for 10 or more. Some Challenge makers create 4 or 5 questions for every category in the Topic. That makes for the perfect data balance for meaningful analysis and will make you a star Capability Assessment maker!

If you have already created a variety of questions in a Topic (as in the example above), you can now easily create a Capability Assessment.
First choose the Topic from the panel called “Make a new Capability Assessment” In this example we are using the Business Change Topic because we have 27 questions ready.

Once the Topic is selected, the next step is to Name your Capability Assessment and give it a description that will appear on the Champions Library. Then fill in a few optional settings and choose an image to represent your new Challenge. The Topic will have a pre filled image, but it’s best to make your Challenge unique by adding a fresh image. (see below)

Next you will be taken to your list of questions. Here you can see a complete list of questions in the chosen Topic. You can select all, or just a chosen few questions for your new Challenge. Remember to select a good representation of questions from each of the Topic’s categories in order to get the most of your future data.

Then simply select the Add Selected Questions button at the top right.

All done! Your new Capability Assessment Challenge has been created successfully and added to the Champions Library.

Step 11

Manage or Modify your Capability Assessments

Your main management page also has a section called My Capability Assessments. This is where you can see all the past Challenges you have created. If you click on a specific Capability Assessment, the details of that Challenge are available on a special page. Here you can see your Challenge’s statistics or edit any aspect of the Challenge including privacy and display options.

You can also share your Challenge on Facebook or click on the OPEN button to play-test the Challenge yourself.

Now you’re an expert!  Good luck creating and using your Champions Capability Assessments.

How to request a Topic

When you request a new Topic for the Champions Library, you are encouraged to design it yourself. Once your new Topic is approved, it will be added to the Champions Library and will bear your Username as the Author. Creating new Topics is a privilege and an honour which can earn Champions points. You should therefore research the new Topic before you begin, so that your Topic is designed well and is useful to the Members who may use it in the future.

Remember that Topics can be selected by yourself or other Members to create new Challenges. There might be hundreds of Challenges created under your new Topic, and all of them will adhere to the basic settings and categories that you are about to design.

Before you begin, search on the Champions Library to see if your Topic already exists. Try not to duplicate Topics, but feel free to be creative and request a Topic that will meet your future needs and perhaps the needs of other Members.

When you first request a Topic you will be asked to select the most appropriate Library for your new Topic from a drop down list. The Libraries are split between one for Business Topics and one for everything else. Note: At least Premium Membership is required to request Topics in genres from the Business Library. If you are not yet a Premium or Professional Member, and want to create a Topic for the Business Library, you will be given the opportunity to upgrade.

Once you have selected the Library, your next choice is Genre. The genre is the group you will nest your new Topic within and should represent the best classification of your Topic. For instance, if you are making a new Topic about Butterflies, you would probably have selected the General Library and your genre choice might be Nature. (see below)

The next step is to name your new Topic. “Butterflies” is a good choice if you want your Topic to be exclusively about Butterflys. If there is already a Topic on Champions named Butterflies, you can be more specific if you wish, perhaps “Butterflies of North America”. It is fine to have more than one similar Topic on Champions, but no two can be named the same.

Now it’s time to set the default time for questions that will be made in your new Topic.

Try to imagine the type of questions you will make in your Challenges on the Topic. How long should the players have to answer? A default time of one minute is standard, but if the subject matter is complex, it might be better to allow more time. No matter what time you choose, the Member creating questions under your Topic can change the answer time per question to suit their particular needs. Your selection here is simply a guide for future question creators.

Probably the most important part of designing a new Topic is the creation of categories. Categories allow you to break down the Topic into specific areas of information. In the example below, I have chosen to break down my Topic, ‘Butterflies’ into several categories including ‘Location and Habitat’ and ‘Wings, Bodies and Legs’.

As there needs to be a minimum of three categories in every Topic, I will now think of a few more useful categories which will promote more detailed questions. You can easily add an extra category by clicking on ‘+ add category’ at the top of the section. Ideally, there are between three and twelve categories per Topic. Most will have around five. The great thing about categories is that Champions can easily show players their results in any Challenge they play, per category. So it’s easy to see a player’s strengths and weaknesses, per category. This makes it much easier to study and learn about the categories in any Topic where a player needs to improve their knowledge.

As you add each category for your new Topic, you can also assign it a distinctive colour. It’s best to choose colours that stand out against the other category colours, as they will often be compared in graphs. You can even match colours from a pre-existing syllabus that already defines a colour for that category. I like to choose strong primary colours that are all very different.

To complete each category, you might want to add a reference link. This is a link to a URL where more information can be found about the category. It will help future players of Challenges made with your Topic because these links will display if they view their data and reports. For instance, if a player scored badly in questions about butterfly wings, then when they check their Challenge report, Champions will show the reference link and suggest they do some further research. Champions is all about helping Members learn and become smarter. In the example below, I have used a reference link to the Wikipedia page on butterflies. Note: Professional Membership is required to add Reference links.

With the hard work now done, you just have to add a Description for your new Topic. This should be short and clearly explain what the Topic covers. The description will show next to the Topic card on the Library and help Members decide if they want to use it. You should check out other Topic Cards on the Library to get a feel for how others describe their Topics. The Library will also show all your category names under your description.

The final part of creating your new Topic is giving it an image. This image will show in the Topic Card on the Library. Choose an image that is quickly recognisable and defines your Topic.

For the above example, I have searched the web, and downloaded an appropriate thumbnail image to my desktop. It does not need to be a large file or high resolution as the final display image will be small. Please avoid copyright infringement. You might choose to use images you have created. The default Champions logo can be changed by clicking the ‘Change Image’ button. Browse for and select the desired image from your desktop and then make it perfect. When you click the green ‘save’ button you are finished.

When you click the final ‘Submit’ button you will be given a chance to review your submission.

After your final check, click the ‘Yes, Proceed’ button to request your new Topic.

The process is automatic and within a day or so, your request is usually approved. You will receive an email and a message on your Dashboard informing you of your new Topics approval. If the Topic is approved, it is immediately available on the Library for use. Sometimes, Topic requests are approved with minor changes and requests are rarely rejected. In all cases, Members are kept informed and new Topics are always appreciated.

How to play a Challenge

There are many types of Challenges on the Champions platform and they are all ‘played’ in the same way:

  • From the Library, choose and select any Challenge you would like to complete or ‘play’
  • After you click the ‘Open’ button on any Challenge type, you will be taken to the Pre-Game screen (as seen below)

The example shows the Pre-Game screen for a QuizGame from the Library. The Pre-Game screen displays the QuizGame card (in this case, Coronavirus Facts) along with either an ad or a short survey card. The short survey cards are used to find out what groups of people are playing the Challenge. They are only used in special Challenges and often for Masterclasses as seen below.

When you are ready to start the Challenge, click the Play button on the Challenge card or the Start Challenge on the footer. A five second countdown timer will get you ready to start answering questions.

When the Challenge starts, you will see the first question. All the Challenge types have a similar, easy to use question layout.

  • The centre panel displays the question and answer choices.
  • The left panel contains the Challenge Timer (in this example, you get 60 seconds to select and submit your answer. Under the Timer is the Question Progress indicator. As you answer questions, the indicator shows green segments for correct answers and red segments for incorrect answers.
  • The right panel displays your progress against Ghost Players from all around the world. Your score in the Challenge is shown at the top with the other nine player’s scores below. Ghost Player scores are made from real data from past plays in the same Challenge. This way, you can have a true sense of competition as you compare your results against theirs. You can even see the locks being added as each Ghost Player answers the question. This provides a sense of urgency for answering questions as quickly as possible.

You can also customize the way you play by adjusting the panels to your needs by hiding selected panels.

After you answer a question, the correct answer will show in green and 3 new options appear in the footer:

  • game progress,
  • view the correct answer’s rationale
  • give feedback on the question

The View Progress option (above) shows your score against the nine other players. Your score is always shown on the left. Click on the ‘x’ to close any pop up box.

Viewing the rationale helps you to learn as you play. You can also earn Champions Points for viewing answer rationales. After every question, the Timer is frozen, allowing you to take a break or spend as much time as you wish reviewing your results or giving feedback.

The Give Feedback option (above) allows you to send feedback directly to the Challenge’s author, which can foster quality improvements. You can also earn Champions Points for providing feedback.

At any time, you can enlarge the question or answer boxes in the centre panel, by clicking on the expand icon in any box. This enables you to see text, images or video at a much larger size. You can also resize and reposition these pop up boxes anywhere on the screen.

After you have completed all questions in the Challenge, click the finish button (bottom right of footer) to proceed to the End of Challenge screen.

On this screen you see a quick summary of your results and graphs representing your scores for each category in the Topic. Reviewing this data can help you to pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses and will help you to focus any further learning in the Topic. From this screen you can also click on My Data, which opens a more detailed list of data and graphs related to the Challenge just played. You can also review this data at any time from your Member Dashboard.

You can click on My Ranking which opens the World Ranking page and displays your current ranking in the particular Challenge or overall Topic. These pages open in a new tab, so you can stay on the End of Challenge page and explore more functions.

When you are finished, you can play the challenge again or return to your Member Dashboard. While playing a challenge, if you choose to exit the game at any time, Champions will remember where you are up to and you may receive prompts to complete the Challenge on your Dashboard Newsfeed.

Using the Champions Library

Champions collection of global Challenges is split into two main libraries. There is a Business Library where Members can find Challenges based on professional business Topics and another for everything else. Both libraries are designed to work in the same way, but cater to different needs. For example, a Member might use the Business Library to search and find Topics about professional certifications like ITIL or DevOps, where they could then test themselves by ‘playing’ any number of Assessment Challenges before taking a real exam. This would help them to learn or revise, and develop the skills necessary to gain a globally recognised certification, which in turn might help their career.

The same Member might use the ‘fun’ Library (the non-business one) to play a QuizGame Challenge about their favourite sport or TV series. This Library is all about fun while still focusing on enabling Members to learn and retain knowledge. Studies have shown that people learn faster and retain more when they are having fun. Champions is a platform where anyone can learn with some friendly competition, at their own pace. Access to Topics on the Business Library, requires Premium or Professional Membership.

Both Libraries are split up into rows of genres, where Members easily find what they are looking for. The top row contains popular Topics which are trending. These can be from either Library. All the rows below pertain to the specific Library you are in which shows in blue at the top right of the screen. You can easily click to display either Library’s genres. In the picture above, we are looking at the Business Library. The genre headings are on the left of the row and give a clear understanding of what Topics might be found within that genre. For instance, the Entertainment genre contains Topics such as Classic Cinema, Sitcoms and Netflix Series.

The gold colour Topic icons are a key feature of the Champions Library. Each Topic represents a specific part of the genre where it is found. Topics can be on anything to do with the genre and are limited only by our global community’s imagination. If you can’t find a Topic you’re looking for, you can even request and create your own Topic by using the Tools side bar or clicking the ‘Request a Topic’ button on the Library page.

The Tools side bar also provides quick explanations of the various types of Challenges that are available across any of the Topics on both Libraries. There are six different types of Challenges available. They are called Challenges because each one challenges the person ‘playing’ in unique ways. All of the Challenges on Champions are gamified, meaning that they use the fun and competitive aspects found in many video and board games. You can find out more about how any type of Challenge works, in the “Playing Challenges tutorial.

You can locate any Topics or specific Challenges on both Libraries using the search function at the top of the page. You can even filter your search by the type of Challenge you want to locate. To see a complete list of the Topics in any Genre, just click on the ‘More’ arrow at the top right of each row.

When you mouse over any Topic icon, the Topic Card is revealed along with the information about that Topic. The information panel also displays the categories used for the Topic, and this is helpful because Champions provides detailed reporting of the data from all Challenges played. If you’re using the Challenge to revise for an exam, the data can tell you where your strengths and weaknesses are per category. Champions is all about powerful analytics.

The Topic Card also shows the total number of Challenges in the Topic, and how many times those Challenges have been played. You can even share the Topic with your friends. Clicking on the ‘Open’ icon will take you into the Topic and displays all the available Challenges in a list. In the example below, there are four Assessments available within the Topic. When you mouse over one of the Assessment icons it instantly displays the Assessment Card which contains useful details such as how many questions there are and how long it will take to complete.

Clicking on the ‘Open’ button as in the example above will bring you to the Pre Game Screen. From this screen you will be able to confirm the Challenge details and start ‘playing’.

Any Champions Member can create their own Challenges on any Topic and then add them to the Library. All Challenges display the Username of the Author. For instructions on making your own Library content, see “Create a New Challenge” in the Tutorial menu.

How to create a challenge

Creating a challenge is easy. Just follow these 12 simple steps and you’ll have your own creation in the Champions Library in no time!

Step 1:

From your Dashboard, select  Challenge Maker from the left menu.

Step 2:

You are now in the Challenge Maker dashboard.

The first time you come here, there won’t be any content. To make your first Challenge, all you need to do is start making questions.  But first, you need to select the Topic in which you will make the questions for your Challenge.

Select Add a Topic

Step 3:

A list will pop up where you first need to select a genre.

Topics are organised into Genres, so before you can select a Topic, you need to choose the genre.

Select the genre you think is appropriate for your topic.

Step 4:

Once you have chosen the Genre, click continue and you’ll be redirected to a list of Topics in the library for that genre.

If you don’t see what you like, you can request any Topic you can think up in the Library’s Tool Bar. But for this example, I chose Entertainment, and now I see the Topics that relate to Entertainment.

Mouse over each topic to see if the categories in the Topic suit your needs. The categories show in a list to the right of the Topic card.

Once you have decided on a Topic, just click the play button in the bottom right corner of the Topic card.

Step 5:

Happy with your Topic selection? Just click Add Topic.

Step 6

Now we’re ready to start adding questions.

The topic you chose is now displayed in your list. Just click Add Question

Step 7

This is the Create Question page where you can input all the data for your questions.

The box on the left has the Topic you chose and a pre-filled drop down list of all the categories in that topic.  They will have a zero next to them right now because you haven’t added a question yet.  The time for each question is set to default time of 1 minute, but you can change that if you like.

Next is the Compose Question box. This is where you type in your question. You can also cut and paste from other sources if it’s easier. There is also formatting keys available, if you’d like to add some media (image, video or audio)

Next is the Answer option 1 box. This is where you type an answer option. The average is 4 answer options but you can choose between 2 and 6 (with only 1 answer being the correct choice!).  You can also have media in any of these.

As you progress down the page, you can add more answer options by clicking the blue Add another Answer option text at the bottom of the answer box.   Make sure you check the box next to the correct answer option (it will turn green when you do).

You also need to fill in the Rationale. This is where you explain why the correct answer is the correct answer.  You can link to references if you like.

Step 8

Once you’re happy with your first question, you can test it (see how it would appear on Champions) or just save it.

Make sure your question is correct, then you can click Yes create it. If you change your mind on anything you can always modify it later.

Congratulations, you just created a question!!  Now you can add another using just the same process as you did for the first one.

NOTE: As you continue creating questions and you choose the category for the question from the drop down menu, you will notice that the number next to the category increases. This is so you can see what categories you are using.  It’s a good idea to spread the questions evenly across the categories – eg. 4 questions in each of the categories is a good average.  It will give your players a much better idea of how good they are at your Topic.

Step 9

When you are finished creating all of your questions, choose the red button in the pop up box:      No, Back to manage page.

Now you are back on your Challenge Creator dashboard and you can see your Topic and the number of questions you made. Note: You need a minimum of three questions to create a Challenge. You should aim for 10 or more. Some Challenge makers create 4 or 5 questions for every category in the Topic. That makes for the perfect learning balance and will make you a star Challenge maker!

Now it’s time to create your Challenge. Go to the Make a New Challenge section and choose the Topic you want (right now, it will be the only one in there)

You will be taken to your list of questions.

If you want to use all of the questions you just made in this Challenge, just select all of them from the top check box, or you can choose them individually.

Then select the Add Selected Questions button at the top right.

Step 10 (you’re almost there!)

Now it’s time to fill in the details of your Challenge. You can name it, write a description and even add an image (this is what will show on the challenge card in the Champions Library).  You’ll have a few extra options if you’re a Premium Member.  When you’re done, click the big Next button at the bottom.

Step 11

You’re done! You can see the summary screen here. If you like, you can change some details, share it on Facebook, play it (the play button on the bottom right of the card) or just go back to your Challenge Creator dashboard.

Now you can see your Challenge displayed in My Challenges.  Any feedback you get on it will be displayed below.

Step 12

You’ve successfully created a Challenge on Champions.

Next steps: play it, share it, enjoy it and see how good your friends are!

Why not make another one? You can add more questions and/or re-use any of your existing questions, in any new Challenges that you make on the same Topic. You can become the global authority in any Topic you choose. Remember to request and design any Topic you can think of at the Library’s tool bar. If it’s not already on the Library, it’s normally ready for use within a day or so.
